International Auto Center Body Shop repairs collision damage on all makes and models at 1499 Lincoln St, Santa Clara. We give free estimates, work with every insurance company, and have done body work in the same community since 1996.
What collision repair covers here
Collision repair means putting a vehicle back to a safe, good-looking condition after an impact. At our Lincoln St shop that includes replacing or repairing fenders, doors, hoods, quarter panels and bumpers, refinishing the new paint to match, and checking the structure behind the visible damage. Many jobs also pull in a second step, such as alignment or a windshield, and we plan those together so your car is not bounced between shops.
If the damage is limited to one corner, you will usually get a single quote that lists parts, labor and paint as separate lines. If it reaches the frame, we tell you that at the estimate and explain what the measuring step will involve.
Signs the damage is bigger than it looks
Bodywork often hides trouble behind a clean-looking panel. Watch for a door that rubs or clicks, gaps along the hood or trunk that are wider on one side, a steering wheel that sits crooked on a straight road, and tires wearing on one edge. One customer came to us after a parked-car hit left the driver's door rubbing the front fender with a click on every opening. A dealer-referred shop had quoted $3,000. He wrote in his review that we fixed it within a minute and charged him nothing.
Not every job ends that way. The point is that an honest first look can save money before a claim is filed.
How a repair moves through the shop
First you bring the car in, or send photos, and we write an estimate. You decide whether to go through insurance or pay out of pocket, and we can work with either. Once you approve, parts are ordered and the car is disassembled where needed to find hidden damage. Panels are repaired or replaced, the car is primed and painted, and everything is reassembled and checked.
If we find additional damage after disassembly, we stop and call you before anything is added to the bill. California law requires a written estimate and your authorization before work begins, and we treat that as the minimum rather than the goal.
What changes the price
Four things move the number most: which panels are damaged, whether they can be repaired or must be replaced, the paint (a three-stage pearl costs more than a solid color), and whether the structure needs measuring or pulling. Parts are the swing factor. New original equipment parts, aftermarket crash parts and used parts each carry different prices, and California's Auto Body Repair Consumer Bill of Rights says you are entitled to know which type goes on your car.
We do not publish a flat price for collision work because two cars with the same dent can need very different repairs. We do promise a clear estimate, free of charge.
Why Santa Clara drivers bring a second quote here
Reviewers mention the same pattern. After quotes from large corporate shops, they came to us for a lower number on the same work. Another reviewer called us family owned and operated, helpful and knowledgeable.
Our rating is 4.9 on Yelp from 71 reviews and 4.6 on Google from 78 reviews. We would rather earn the repair on the estimate than push you toward the biggest ticket.
